SUMMARY:Indigenous Women's Leadership Treaty Forum
DESCRIPTION:This is to inform you about an opportunity to attend an Indigenous Women’s Forum\, designed to share perspectives on the (traditional) role of women in the modern treaty era and to facilitate discussion for greater understanding and the strengthening of treaty relationships in Ontario. \nAs part of Ontario’s Treaty Strategy\, this forum will be held in Toronto on February 7\, 2017 at the Central YMCA\, 20 Grosvenor St.\, Toronto\, Ontario. \nWorking with the Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation\, independent facilitators Mary Jamieson and Kathleen Lickers are coordinating Indigenous Knowledge Keepers\, community representatives\, Indigenous organizations\, youth and Elders\, to present and voice their perspectives on treaty. \nIf you are interested in attending\, please RSVP to info@treatyforum.ca or by telephone to Kathleen Lickers directly at (519) 445-1863. \nMIRR will reimburse your travel and accommodation expenses. \nPlease note: \n\nGuests are required to book and pay their own travel and accommodations.\nOnly original meal\, travel and hotel receipts will be accepted for reimbursement.\nReimbursement will take 30-60 days to process from the date receipts are received by MIRR.\nNo reimbursement of cash or cheques will be processed or available on site.\n\nA website with additional information has been created (www.treatyforum.ca)\, as well as an email for feedback and comments: info@treatyforum.ca. \nShould you have any questions\, please feel free to send them to info@treatyforum.ca or call Kathleen directly at (519) 445-1863. \nPlease note that ideas\, opinions and stories shared at the forum will be compiled anonymously for a final report by the independent facilitator.
