Good Health for Our People
There is no greater priority for the Anishinabek Nation than improving the overall health and wellness of our citizens. The Anishinabek Nation Health Secretariat provides valuable, collective support to its member First Nations through advocacy, health promotion, prevention, education, and health policy leadership.

The Health Secretariat works collaboratively with First Nations, leadership, health professionals and partners to advance culturally appropriate health programs, services and policies throughout Anishinabek Nation territory.

The Federal and Provincial Policy Analysts analyze health issues that address the health needs of Anishinabek First Nations. They serve as policy advisors and provide strategic direction to the Anishinabek Nation.

We Will Work Together on Good Health
The Health Secretariat staff act as administrative support to the Anishinabek Advisory Council on Health, the Anishinabek Chiefs Committee on Health, and the Chiefs of Ontario Chiefs Committee on Health.
Goals & Objectives
Through collaboration, policy support and program delivery, the Health Secretariat works toward the following objectives.
Provide technical and coordination support.
Support the analytical requirements of the Anishinabek Advisory Council on Health and the Chiefs Committee on Health as determined by the Health Director.
Perform duties assigned to the Health Secretariat.
Deliver predetermined services as mandated periodically.
Improve the mental, spiritual, emotional, physical and environmental well-being of the membership in consultation with First Nations.
Promote improvement in health care services available to the people of the Anishinabek Nation territory.
Promote self-government in health within the Anishinabek Nation territory.
Ensure respect and dignity are upheld through culturally sensitive health service delivery and personnel.
Provide a forum to discuss, review, collaborate and share advice with Anishinabek Nation Councils and leadership.
